EMPOWERED TO SUCCEED
TEXT: JOSHUA 1:1-9, PSALM 1:1-3
The word “Empowered” means:
To give power to someone.
To give official authority or legal power to someone.
It also means to enable (give ability) to someone to do something.
It means to make it possible, practicable and easy for someone to achieve something.
It is to provide someone with the means, tools or opportunity to achieve something.
The word “Succeed” on the other hand means “to turn out well, to attain a desired result or end.
To succeed also means to prosper in all that you lay your hands unto.
NOTE: I decree over you that in this new month, heaven will smile on you. You will be endowed with all you need to succeed and do great exploits in all areas of your life in Jesus name. You will not fail.
AREAS OF EMPOWERMENT TO SUCCEED
God’s will for you is to be empowered to succeed in all areas of your life. III John 2.
You are to succeed in:
Your spiritual life – in your walk with God.
Your marriage.
Your business/job.
Your family – both nuclear and extended.
Your finances.
Your relationship with people.
WHY MUST YOU BE EMPOWERED TO SUCCEED
Success is the original intention of God for humanity right from the beginning. Gen. 1:26-28.
God is a success. He never fails and you are created in His image to replicate success as His child (son/daughter). Matt. 7:11, 5:48, Luke 11:2.
The creation and creatures of God were all successfully crafted. Gen. 1:10, 18; 21:31.
God’s will for us as His children is to succeed and prosper in all our undertakings III John 2.
Jesus came and endorsed or validated God’s will for us to succeed and be victorious in all we do. John 10:10, Luke10:19, John 15:1-5.
The power of the holy spirit has also been given to us to succeed and do exploits in life. Acts 1:8, 2:1-4.
The Bible is God’s success manual to us and we do not have any excuse s why we should not succeed. Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:3.
The Blood of Jesus was shed to redeem us from the curse of the law. Failure is part of the curse, but with the blood od Jesus atoning for our sins, we are liberated to succeed and show forth God’s praise on earth. Rev. 1:5-6, 5:9-10.
Our convenant inheritance in Christ also qualifies us to succeed. The blessing and success of Abraham has been transferred to us. Gal. 3:13-14.
The Patriachs and many major characters in the Bible are examples and models of success and not failure. Heb. 11:3.
God’s thoughts and plans for our lives are to make us do well and succeed significantly. Jer. 29:11.
God also wants to proudly show us to the world and even the devil and his cohorts that we His children are successes and no failures. Job 1:6-8; Isa 43:21; I Peter 2:9.
Also the people of the world are anxiously looking out for our manifestations as successful children of the Most High God. Rom. 8:19.
EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE WHO WERE EMPOWERED TO SUCCED IN THE BIBLE
Noah: He found grace and enablement to succeed with this family when others fail. Gen. 6:5-9.
Abraham: God took him out of an idolatrous family, blessed him and empowered him to to succeed and be a blessing to many generations after him, Gen. 12:1-3.
Isaac: He was empowered through divine instruction and guidance. He eventually prospered and succeeded more that his.
Jacob: As part of fulfillment of convenant promise, Jacob also succeeded and prospered in all His dealings because God empowered him. Gen. 28:10-15, 30:30,43.
Joseph: He was empowered and he succeeded anywhere he found himself even in prison. Gen. 39: 2-4, 21-23, 41:38-44.
Moses: Moses was empowered to succeed. He was emboldened to face Pharaoh. He led the Israelites out of Egypt successfully. Exo. 7:1-2, 14:13-31.
Joshua: As a servant of Moses, when the mantle of leadershi fell on him, God also empowered him to succeed too. Josh. 1:1-19.
King David: God empowered him to be victorious over the lion, the bear and Goliath. I Sam. 17:39-51.
King Solomon:He was empowered with untold wealth of wisdom. This made him to be a successful king that the world still makes reference to him up till today. I kings 3:5-13.
King Uzziah: Uzziah was another king that God really empowered to do exploits in his generation which was unprecedented. II Chro. 26:1-15.
King Jotham: He was a young man when he was made king. But he purposed to seek God and God empowered him to succeed and he became mighty. II Chro. 27:1-7.
Nehemiah: As a cup bearer and slave in a foreign land, heaven empowered him and he obtained an uncommon success to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. Neh. 1:1-11, 6:15-16.
Our Lord Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is success-personified. Anywhere He went, He was successful. God anointed Him to do exploits in all areas. Luke 2:52, Acts 10:38.
Apostle Peter: He was empowered by the Holy Ghost to declare the counsel of God to the Sadducies and Pharises. Acts 2:14-38.
Apostle Paul: He was also empowered by Jesus and power of the Holy Ghost to do great exploits and preach the gospel despite all odds. Gal. 1:11-24.
KEY FACILITORS FOR YOUR EMPOWERMENT TO SUCCEED
It is certainly and undeniable that we have been empowered to succeed by the reason of our redemption in Christ. However, there are certain keys we need to engage in order to enhance the success God has endowed us with. The following keys are very essential.
Personal Relationship with God: Without God, success is a mirage. Therefore you need to get acquainted to Him on a personal absis. Know Him by accepting Jesus Christ. Job 22:21, John 1:12, 15:1-5.
The Key of Faith: Without powers and forces of darkness. It is impossible to please God; neither is it possible to appropriate the promise of success.
You need to believe God and His word. Also, you need to believe in yourself that you are what His word say you are. Mark. 11:22, 9:23; Heb. 11:6.
Embrace the Word of God: The Bible is the manual of durable and enduring success. You are to study it, meditate on it, and do it. Thereby your success will be undeniable. Jos. 1:8; Psa. 1:3, I Tim4:13, James 1:22-25.
The Anointing of the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is a Spirit of success. When His anointing comes upon you, nothing can stand in your way of success. The anointing came upon Saul when he met Prophet Samuel. The anointing turned Saul into another man. The power of the Holy Ghost also came upon the Apostles and they began to accomplish successes that were undeniable. I sam. 10:1-9, Acts 1:8, 3:1-11, 4:16.
Fervent Prayers: A prayerful believer is a candidate for success anytime, any day. Whatever you ask God prayerfully in the name of Jesus shall be delivered to your hands. Mountains and obstacles will be cleared off your paths of success if only you will engage in the fervent prayers. Jer. 33:3, John 14:14, James 5:16-17, I John 5:14.
Understanding Your Covenant Right of Success and Trading It: we are covenant people as believers. We inherited the covenant promise of success from Abraham. However, if you must manifest this success, you must have adequate knowledge and understanding of your covenant inheritance in Christ. Ignorance will rob you of what is yours. So embrace the covenant right and run with it. Gal. 3:13-14, Hosea 4:6, Gen. 39:2, 26:2-4, 12:14.
Embrace the Wisdom of God: Wisdom is the right application of knowledge you have received. Embrace God’s wisdom and you can never be a failure. Wisdom is profitable to direct. Prov. 4:5-8, Essl. 10:15.
Renewed Mindset: The scripture commands us not to conform to the mindset of the world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. A renewed mindset is a possibility and success mindset. You need to renew your mindset and to conform to God’s counsel and promise for your life. You are a success and not a failure. The DNA of failure is no more in you. Rom. 12:1-2, Prov. 23:7, Phil. 4:8.
Key of Diligence and Hard work: Success will not drop on you like a ripe cherry. Success is not for the idle and lazy people. You must be diligent and hardworking in your Job, business or career and the grace of God will crown your efforts so that you can achieve notable and undeniable success. Prov. 22:29, 12:11, 24,27, 14:23, 10:4.
Courage and Boldness: You need to be courageous and bold to face any challenge or obstacle on your way of success. God specifically gave Joshua this key when He was giving the responsibility of leadership. Josh 1:5-7,9.
Successful Company/Association: Show me your friends, and I will tell you the manner of man you are. Birds of the same feather flock together. The type of company you keep will go a long way in determining whether you will be become a success or a failure. So watch out who you come around and who comes around you. Friendship is by choice not by force. I Cor. 15:33, Prov. 13:20, Palm 1:1-3.
Success Confession/Declaration: The words of your mouth are very essential in determining whether you be be successful or not. You cannot be confessing fear, doubt and failure all the time and expect success to be your experience. Though you are empowered to succeed but God said He will always do according to what you are saying. Num. 14: 28, I kings 3:12a, Prov. 18:20-21.
EVIDENCES/EFFECTS OF YOUR EMPOWERMENT TO SUCCEED
You will experience power to get wealth. Wealth and riches will be at your command. Deut. 8:18; Psalm 112:3.
You will have dominion over the powers and forces of darkness. You will be victorious always.Luke 10:19, Psalm 91:13.
Honour will be your experience anywhere you find yourself. Psalm 91:15.
When you are empowered to succeed spiritually, you will have boldness to preach the gospel without fear or intimidation. Acts 1:8, 4:13.
Success has many friends, but failure is in orphan. When you succeed. Successful people will come around you and be your friends. Prov. 19:4,7; I Kings 10:1-10.
You will also be an attraction to favour and every good thing of life. Because you have become a success favourable dispositions will surround you anywhere you go. Psalm 45:11-12, 5:12.
Whatever you lay your hands to do will be successful. Other people may experiencing drought or failure, but you will always flourish in your endeavour. Psalm 1:3, Gen. 26:12-14.
